White's Road

Looking for a picturesque drive? White’s Road in Wilmington offers a panoramic view of the Wilmington-Dover area. It’s particularly stunning at sunset, perfect for a memorable evening outing.

Mount Equinox Skyline Drive

Take a breathtaking drive on Mount Equinox Skyline Drive, a 5.2-mile toll road that reaches the 3,848-foot summit. Built in the 1940s, it’s the longest, privately-owned paved road in the United States, offering panoramic views from the tallest peak in the Taconic Mountain Range. Owned by Carthusian monks, this unique route includes a flat stretch with a view of the monastery below.

  • Season: Memorial Day Weekend to October 31st
  • Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily (weather permitting); last car in by 4:00 PM.
  • Getting There: From Manchester, take Route 7A south toward Arlington. The entrance to Skyline Drive is on the right.

Harriman’s Reservoir

Crosstown Trails

Discover over 20 miles of scenic trails in the Green Mountain National Forest, perfect for all abilities. The Crosstown Trails feature lush landscapes, gentle terrain, and plenty of spots to pause and enjoy nature’s beauty.

  • Distance: 6 miles total
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Duration: 20 min – 3 hours
  • Trailhead Directions: Take Rt 100 to Tannery Rd in West Dover. Turn left at Handle Rd. Parking is 1 mile up on the left.
  • Trail Maps: Available at Visit Vermont and the Visitor Center.
